A bit Google centric this morning (FANBOI ALERT) but come on, who wouldn't want to work here, I know it's looks a lot nicer than the data centre I currently work in! and it's themed from my very own homes towns iconic pebble beach, Thanks www.freshome.com for the original posting...

Google’s New Vivid Office in London Featuring Telephone Booths, Giant Dice and Beach Huts: "

All Google offices around the world can be characterized by originality and out-of-the-box staff interaction ideas. This particular project was developed by architecture firm Scott Brownrigg and is located in London. As seen on Dezeen, the total space of the office is 40,000 sq ft and the theme behind the design is Brighton beach. Here are further details from Google: “Brightly coloured timber beach huts are meeting rooms and giant colourful dice accommodate individual video conference booths, original dodgem cars and traditional red telephone booths are all work spaces available to staff and visitors. Open plan workstations for all staff are mixed with a few offices, meeting rooms and open break out seating areas and support spaces for printing and IT technical support. Scott Brownrigg Interior Design has designed a fully fitted out gym/shower facility, massage and spa treatment centre, and an Asian Fusion/Sushi restaurant that is free for all staff. What a fantastic way to gain the loyalty of your employees!

This is one of my Favourite Argus headlines for a long time

Brighton's Bat for Lashes star's slug problem: "The charmed life of a pop star is about as far removed from the misery of living in student digs as you could get."

mobile phone upgrade

I'm on orange mobile network in the uk and have an upgrade due in a couple of weeks time, so as a dedicated tech lover i have been looking at the options available to me, now i love the idea of iphones and playing with my friends but i they're a tad overpriced and the camera's are't great, also they're exclusive to o2 here and I am currently on Orange. So I have been looking at what is available to me. i currently have a sony erricson 850i which i like a great deal, but I would like a smartphone which can deal with browsing the net easier and also support wi-fi. I aslo wanted a decent camera to take snapshots on the go, and for the purposes of this blog something with geo-mapping of images.

So i have cut down to two options;

1. HTC Touch Diamond 2
2. Samsung i8910 HD

I've looked at several review sites to try and whittle down my descision to the final choice; the samsung has a better camera and a oled screen but is based on a symbian system, which makes the touch sensitivity a little less sensitive. The HTC is based on windows mobile and is a little more adaptable and slick but the camera is less functional and has no flash :(

so my final descion, hpefully the samsung, but we'll have to see what orange say on the 4th...
